Responsibilities include:
Ensure optimal performance, reliability, security and availability of database environments
Deliver proactive support and maintenance for assigned databases and related database management software to optimize ongoing reliability and performance and total cost of ownership.
Work with the Technical Architect to ensure that all developments are undertaken compliant with defined architectures and designs.
Maintain database documentation. In particular data models and data dictionaries.
Develop and maintain effective scripting, including creation and management of batch job scheduling.
Complete regular capacity planning forecasts over databases and provide monthly performance reporting.
Work with project teams to assist data requirements, data interface designs, and data conversion efforts
Create and maintain environments for development
Work in collaboration with developers to troubleshoot issues in development
Work in collaboration with infrastructure to apply backups and security to development environments
Develop stored procedures, triggers, Integration Services and/or DTS packages, DML and DDL scripts as required
Work on Performance tuning initiatives
Provide relevant documentation to document work procedures and development
Work within client\'s Change Management and Problem Management process
Required skills:
Proven database administration experience within a support and development role
Proven project team collaboration experience in assisting with database and environmental management
Strong SQL Server experience (i.e. 3+ years) in SQL Server 2000 (i.e. ETL, SSIS)
Strong Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (i.e. 3+ years) and developing database object in the .NET languages (i.e. C#, VB.NET)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
