Perficient has open positions for Senior Java Engineer who is a core team member capable of researching and implementing solutions to moderately complex problems and effectively applying good design principals and appropriate algorithms to produce effective solutions. The Senior Java Engineer has excellent teamworking skills and provides coaching to junior Java engineers, verifies technical direction/solution, performs research on complex and demanding business issues, and develop the key components of a project.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a senior, full-time technical design, implementation, and coaching resource on projects
Engage in day-to-day design and development processes, contribute to crucial technical decisions
Work with a dedicated Project Manager or act as a team lead to manage scope and delivery schedules
Serve as an individual contributor for key components of a systems solution
Work with Technical Architects to define system requirements and participate in application design
Coach junior Java engineers
Effectively track and communicate on a timely basis the status of deliverables and metrics at the sub-team or module level

Qualifications:

BS in Computer Science (or related field) is desired. Candidates with significant relevant work experience may also be considered
Demonstrated experience contributing in a fast moving / changing environment
Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts clearly, to both technical and non-technical persons
Demonstrated relationship management and teamwork skills
5+ years of hands on software development experience
4+ years of development experience using J2EE and associated technologies
Preference given to individuals with telecom, customer account management, product management, order management, channel, or marketing etc. using BEA, Siebel, or IBM enterprise products
Preference given to individuals with experience in 2+ projects through the complete lifecycle (requirements, design, development, and release/launch)
Preference given to individuals with experience in delivering in a CMM Level 3 or higher organization

Other Requirements:

Strong language skills – English CET Level 6 or equivalent

Flexibility to travel abroad as required by project
